I am thankful for the opportunity to teach First-Year Experience courses. I truly believe in the topics taught and that they are foundational for students’ success not only academically but also professionally and personally.
Completing courses like FYE can make individuals influential in our communities and the world!
My Ms. America speech. 😇😂
Seriously, it is a blessing to be an educator in the lives of others!

I agree with your speech! I loved teaching FYE because although some of my students would leave or transfer out, I knew I was imparting some wisdom and the opportunity to explore with them. I still keep in touch with some of them!
-
If I were teaching now, I think I, too, would love teaching this group. Success here has such an impact on their overall success. Thank you for not only teaching it but loving it! And I would vote for you if I heard this speech in any situation!

I completely agree with you and Adrienne. I am blessed to have amazing students from JH to College! It makes teaching fun when they want to learn or even teach too.

I always wonder why I continue to change things up. But you are right. We learn from them. There is only one project I have taught consistently for the last 18 years and that is Sand Art. My students love it so I have to keep it. They look forward to it each year.
